YCP Omaha Executive Speaker Series: Mary Kay Leatherman

Come to YCP Omaha's March Executive Speaker Series! Mary Kay Leatherman will be giving her presentation on Living the Dream.
Mary Kay Leatherman is a member of the Nebraska Writers Guild and the author of both non-fiction and fiction works. She is also the founder, manager, and instructor for 3MT Test Prep in Omaha, Nebraska ( www.go3mt.com ).
Mary Kay received her undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Arts and Secondary Education, from Creighton University. She taught English, Journalism, and Creative Writing for three years in Fremont, Nebraska at Archbishop Bergan High School. She then taught for nine years at Burke High School in Omaha. The Peter Kiewit Foundation presented her with the 1992 Nebraska Teacher Achievement Award for Excellence in Classroom Teaching. In 1994 she was honored as the Burke High School Outstanding Teacher of the Year. In 1995, Mary Kay received the Showcase Teacher Award from The University of Nebraska. Mary Kay was a 1996 winner of the Alice Buffett Outstanding Teacher Award.
Mary Kay’s books Surviving Your Friend’s Divorce (ACTA Publications, Chicago, Illinois, 1996) and Sharing the Faith with Your Child (Liguori Publications, St. Louis, Missouri, 2006) were educational but not as much fun to write as her novels Vanity Insanity in 2014 and Cowboys to Camelot in 2016 (Blue Wave Press) (www.mkleatherman.com ).
Mary Kay and her husband Mike facilitated the Welcome Your Baby and Remarriage programs through the archdiocese from 1996 to 2001. They have also chaired fundraisers for St. Robert Bellarmine and Marian High School.
